Hungerthon is WHY’s largest fund raising event, having raised $4,957,204 since 1975. Hungerthon is carried on all six Infinity Radio Stations in the NYC tri-state area: WCBS-AM, WCBS-FM, WFAN-AM, WINS-AM, WNEW-FM and WXRK-FM (K-ROCK); and on WCBS-Television (New York edition). Hungerthon serves as WHY’s largest annual public outreach, broadcasting to more than 6 million people with essential information about hunger and poverty.

During Hungerthon, radio personalities present facts on hunger and poverty, and announce corporate sponsors and on-air auctions. Auction items and other collectibles often include autographed entertainment and sports memorabilia, cultural packages, and TV and stage walk-ons.
